Jessie Season 1 Review

Rating: 2 out of 5.

While I did enjoy most episodes, one episode really is problematic. The “Gotcha Day” episode is not appreciated by adoptees. I know that the writers were attempting it to make adoption feel normal but it fell short big time. Adoption is traumatic on kids, no matter the age. While adoption can be seen as a good thing, reminding a child they were forced from their biological parents isn’t it. Especially when Ravi learned that his parents wanted a baby, but they got an older child.
