Released August 30, 2005 Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch has a Glitch is part of the Lilo and stitch franchise. Although this is the third film to be released in the franchise it takes place between the events of 2002’s Lilo and Stitch and 2003 direct video film stitch the movie.

One morning Stitch (Chris Sanders) woke up from a nightmare where he had turned bad causing destruction to earth which hurt Lilo (Dakota Fanning). Lilo consoled stitch by reminding him that she knows he would never cause harm to her and Lilo test his level of goodness by having him do good deeds. Upon discovering that they were late for a hula class, they use their hovercraft to get there. While at the hula class, Kumu (Kunewa Mook) announces that Lilo and her classmates will prepare to perform at the local May Day festival. Each student Is required to create an original dance and Lilo is inspired when cool motels about her mother being in the festival at her age and winning. Kumu also gives Lilo a stitch of her mother from that age. After class Mertle (Liliana Mumy) insults Lilo by telling her she will never be as good as her mother. Lilo, upset at the matter, begins to have a physical brawl with her. Stitch distracted by taking pictures of the fight forget to flush the evidence after Kumo catches them. Kumu is concerned that Lilo is not ready for the competition but Lilo tells him that she “triple promises” she will be good.

Later that night Lilo and stitch are trying to come up with ideas for the competition but they are out of them. Meanwhile Nani (Tia Carrere) encourages them to just enjoy a family fun night and watch Them! on TV. But Stitch goes berserk in the house it turns out that Jumba (David Ogden Stiers) did not get a chance to fully charge stitches molecules as the intergalactic police had arrested him disrupting the process. The glitch Stitch was having reverted him back to his old destructive self against his own free will and it will kill him if Jumba cannot create a fusion chamber before Stitch’s energy runs out for good.

While, Stitch’s uncontrollable behavior drives a wedge between him and Lilo and threatens to ruin her success at the hula competition. Lilo and Stitch try to be inspired but Stitch just keeps malfunctioning. Lilo is so concerned about winning the competition she failed to notice this glitch. Lilo accuses stage of doing this on purpose when she realizes it and not because of something actually happening to him. David (Jason Scott), Nani’s boyfriend, believes that Nani is losing interest in him and asks Pleakley (Kevin McDonald) to help him by giving him advice on romance.

Based the legend of Hi’laka, Lilo and Stitch create a dance to it. As they practice Lilo‘s patient grows low with stitch continuing to ruin the sessions. To make matters worse Jamba is having problems creating the future fusion chamber because he doesn’t have the proper alien technology to build one and only can resort to the household objects. On the day of the competition stitch arrives just before Lilo is about to perform to wish her luck. As the to reconcile jumbo completes the fusion chamber.

However, Stitch has another fit. Lilo, who is confused, ask Stitch if he is okay. During this fit, Stitch accidentally scratches her on the face. Lilo knows that stitch would never hurt her so she knows there’s definitely something wrong with him but as she tries to ask what was going on stitch was growing increasingly more dangerous and remorseful for hurting her. He runs off planning to leave earth and as he believes he is too dangerous himself. All this was happening during her performance and Lilo leaves the stage to help him.

Stitch quickly left earth as Lilo and the rest of the family try to convince him to stay so they can help him. However, Stitch took off and during which he suffered his most violent and painful outburst. This caused him to lose full control of the spaceship which ended in him crashing into the Hawaiian mountains. Lilo finds him using her hovercraft. Search is injured and close to death so she scooped him up and brought him back to Jumba’s fusion chamber. Jumba’s fusion chamber didn’t help him however and so he opened it and let Lilo hold him who said he will always be part of her Ohana I will always love him breaking down in tears. While everyone grieves for Stitch, Stitch awakens much to everyone’s surprise. Jumba then explains that he was revived by Lilo’s love and later that night the family and David perform Lilo’s hula dance. The movie ends with Nani telling Lilo that their mother would be really proud of her.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Not as good as the first but it does continue the story line. Stitch is saved by love, and that is what matters right? And who doesn’t love Stitch?
